When i want to learn something that time i concern about "basic". Whoever want to learn anything they need to fundamental of that thing. Basic or your fundamentals build your knowledge about that things.

I don't get what do you mean by fundamental ? You mean our need? Or what we think is good for us?

I just try to tell you if I want to learn something new then I will first look that point like student. Because I have intention behind that learning thingse.g. - I want to learn English language so I refer the basic first because I want to perfect to talk this language and just not me who want to become fluent speak this language they also think like that.

         I just look that point practically. That’s why I get you one example. I anticipated your reply. Thank you.

I would learn how to cook.. and learn a new language ;)

Cooking is very interesting hobby. You are right.

And learning other language help us to know more people and communicate with them. :)

It depends what you are going to learn. If it is related to study. you must go library, search on google, ask your seniors, but if it is some social like relationship then your parents are best tool for it. It totally depends on nature of it
