maybe it is.

What about with a mirror? Have you ever tried that?

Hi,

Dear Tara,

I think it is possible. Since it is so difficult to find someone to talk with, it's better to practice it alone. What I was doing was recording my voice and picked a topic and started talking about it while recording. Then, I listened to myself and realized how well or bad I was talking. Another way is to listen to a story and try to retell it by your own words. It's difficult but it's really helpful.

I'm still not very good at speaking but I'm improved so much by this way. At least I can manage real life situation.

Best wishes,

recording my own voice is the helpful way I sometimes do, even though my voice is not so good as Michael Jackson's... haha.. :D

I've tried also to record my own voice, I'm supposed to have en interview with a journalist which ask about a topic that I really enjoy... it' s not bad a tall to improve speaking

I thing it's possible for certain people, but not for all the people,

for me it's so very dufficult, you know why..

How can i know what i say is true or false if i talk alone, maybe if we translate word by word to our language its true,

but if we translate a full sentence, it's not necessarily true, because translate word by word with translate in full sentence is different, but if you talk with someone who has a good english, he can told you if any wrong in your sentence..

I've done it one time, "talked to myself" for english speaking practising..
in front of my mirror, but suddenly i saw my little brother was looking at me with fully opened mouth.
while i'm talking to myself, yelling and moving my hands up & down, i believe that i looked like i'm shouting and so angry to myself, "I was trying imitate a scene of movie"
I tried to explain to him that i'm not insane, am just practising my english,
but, no way,, grrrr.. i never repeat this practise any more...

I wanted to say that, for sure that's a very useful idea to practice english speaking
in front of a mirror, and even if some of what you are saying is wrong..
you just need to have self confidence..
But if you wanted to try it, just make sure that you are AlONE in your room.. :)

Your story is really funny, Akram. I've not been in your situation but i was talking with myself when i drove in the street. At first, I whispered, but after a few moment, when i forgot that i was driving in the street, i talked louder and louder. Suddenly, I stopped talking and looked around, everybody in the street looked at me in the strange way.

I think the method you advocate is a good way to practise speaking English. At first ,I was shy to talk English loudly in public place. But now I am proud of speaking English loudly.

haha what a very ridiculous experience Akram..

i think It is possible.u can choose a random topic then speaking with a recorder. when U finish with your speaking U can play the recorder and review what U got and what U missed, which words u pronounce nicely and which one U misspell,.. I think this kind of practice can help the beginners a lot.

I think it's a little bit hard to do so.You'd better have a partner to practise your speaking English. When speaking alone,I feel it's boring to practise for a long time.
