Permalink Reply by bright - rubies on February 23, 2013 at 8:18 I agree that reading is very important for improving our English skills. I love reading but not reading categories I prefer. I prefer books about social life, I find it less complicated than others books. There is a saying that says: " tell me what you read, I tell you who you are" ....

Exactly reading educates us and shows volume of our personality as well
Thank you bright rubies for you presence
Permalink Reply by noaslpls on February 26, 2013 at 15:08 Books are my best friends. I'm an avid reader. A few years back I can read 2 - 3 books in a month (average 300 - 500 pages), but nowadays I only managed to read about 1 book in a month. I prefer novels - murder, crimes, thrillers as such, and read the net news - BBC and Daily Mail UK.
It enriches my vocabularies as well as general knowledge.

@noa
Thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts dear . Indeed the only way of enhancing knowledge and vocabulary is Reading
Permalink Reply by Mr. Bob on May 8, 2013 at 18:10 I like to read people's blogs on this site to learn about what they think and where they live. I also like to read fiction and non-fiction books.
The non-fiction that I like is history.
The fictional books I like are mystery novels or adventure novels. Some books that I start I may leave unfinished if I am still not interested after one or two hundred pages. I believe that reading is the best way to increase your vocabulary and you can often tell the meaning of the new word by the way it is used. If you are unsure, you can always look in the dictionary to find the meaning and how to pronounce the word. : )

@Mr Bob
Precisely sir !
Reading all levels and category of books of interests, enhances ones vocabulary.
Reading your blogs enriches us and reading your advices and comments on my discussions and blogs , makes me very happy . thank you Sir
Permalink Reply by vvquang on May 9, 2013 at 4:54 Reading is my hobby in leisure time. Book categories I like are about religion, politics, adventure, fiction and laws. the novel I love the most is "three kingdoms", an ancient novel written by a Chinese author (Lo Kuan Chung). It talks about the time when China was divided into three nations with unremitting battles.
I love reading because besides making my mind relax, this hobby may enrich me with knowledge of the world around. Moreover, I also agree with Mr.Bob above, reading is the best way to gain vocabulary and the way such words are used, since then it helps to diversify word-use during writing process.

@vvquang
History books quenches the thirst of knowledge of bygone era's
I agree reading relaxes ones senses

Permalink Reply by Seeker on May 11, 2013 at 8:46 Reading is my strongest hobby. i cannot spend even a day without reading a book.
Benefits of reading are boundless. first of all a book is a friend that does not conceal anything and reveal everyth8ng to you. it is upon you to take as much as you can. you can spend you whole life in reading a thoughtful book and you will ever finf new things in it.
In books we find different sentence structures and words. it increases our language skills.
in books, thoughts of those people are collected who are not present in this world because they all have died. but we can read their thoughts with the help of books.
it is enough for this time.
i will back to say more!
