Today i am feeling sad to see my youngsters without Penpals. While we were studying in primary school, our teachers use to make us write a friendly letter for some one who is unknown to us and resides far away from our school. We write letters proudly then and send it. After a month or so we receive our replies back and read happily and comes to know of their school, family, friends and so forth.

After our first letter's exchange we keep on continuing till we meet face to face during our summer and winter vacation. The next step will be a much friendlier letter to ourselves. We share their details with our family members and talk/discuss of them and so on.

I don't know whether this kind of system exists in your place or not? I would be glad if you  guys can share with us.

Have a nice day ahead friends.

First of all, i am really happy to read such a good topic about Penpales or keypales. More importantly, it's a very effective skill that enables the beginner writers to improve their writing skill.Furthermore, it's a way that gauids  the learners  to discover, understand and read alot about the other cultures and traditions around the world. Making friends is aslo one of the advantages that a person gets when practicing such a skill. Moreover, the learners get to enlarge the scope of their families by building up a good relations with may different families around. No matter how hard it will be at the first time, later on they will find it easier and more confidential as well to exchange ideas, and feel relax and happy either to provide or recieve messages from a friend. Honestly, how happy the person becomes when getting an email from a friend or a family member, let alone , if he gets it from a either a Penpale or a Keypale whom he never expect to get any notice from. Finallly, getting to know many friends, improving the learners' skill of writing, discovering the other culutres and traditions, enlarging the families relations, and doing it as an amusement skill are the factors that make writing to a Penpale or Keypale a very interesting skill to be practicied especially during the initial stages of  the learning process.
