We all know that being a good parent is the world's most important and most difficult job! When I was a young mom with new babies, I belonged to a mommy and me group. We got together once a week with our babies and toddlers and shared stories about our long, wonderful days. Sarah gave me a great muffin recipe! Shannon made me laugh. Carly taught us about gardening and Sharon inspired us to stay fit. Anna shared her favourite music with us. We all admired Nadine for how organized she was while raising twins! Even though I moved away, I'll never forget my mommy group and all of the beautiful children that I got to play with each wee. We also went out once a month without the kids! Boy, did we need it.
My mother belonged to a mother's fellowship group too. It's one of the most important things you can do for your children, don't you think? If you are planning on teaching your children English, you are not alone! This is another reason to join the MyEC mom group. We can share good books, practise nursery rhymes, and learn new expressions that are useful to teach your children. Please invite all of the MyEC moms you know.

Comment by SHANTA on September 19, 2011 at 6:56 Good Morning Tara, this is a nice group. The video is superb. Wish some more videos will be added in near future..As for me I have a girl child of 8 years age..I wish to see her when she grows up ,as a self- confident, young woman

Nice story! Is it an original or did you translate it? Please tell us some background. Did you write it for your kids?
Tip:I have many things to do here which I can’t do in anywhere else.
Please don't laugh at my writing. I know it is a bit ridiculous. I just want to practise Enlish.
The story: happiness
In a rural area, there is a poor girl who is a bit ugly and can not get much education as she is not good at studying. But she is industrious. She gets up early in the morning when the sun rises and feed the pigs and chicken, watering the plant in the garden then she goes to the field to do the farming. She has skilful hands which can do many things so fast and well. The vegetables on her field grow better than on others' ones, the plants on her field give her so much fruits. She only returns home when it is dark and the smoke is flying over the kitchen's roof in the village (It is time for dinner).
Each night, after the dinner, she does the sewing. She makes shirts, pillows, trousers and many other things. In winter, she knits. She brings her products to the market and sells them at cheap price for poor people. But there is one thing that makes she feel sad: there is noone who wants to marry her. Year after year, from Spring to Winter she keeps doing all the same things...She feels so bored and wants to change it.
One Winter day, when she is on her way to the market to sell her hand-made products, she meets a poor old woman who is suffering from the cold of Winter. She gives that poor woman a woolen handkerchief and says:
-I hope this may help you feel warmer. Last year, I have given you one. You told me that I am a good girl and wished me luckiness and happiness. But I have still not feel happy. I am so unlucky. And so are you. You are still poor and are getting cold. So I will not make those things any more. I want to go to the place where my aunt lives to change my life, find a job, get married and have babies.
The old poor woman look into the young girl’s eyes and says:
-You don’t belong to anywhere else, this land is the suitable place for you. But I wish that you will find your happiness in the place where you will go to.
The the girl takes all her savings, say “goodbye” to her parents and leave.
The following Winter, the old poor woman meets her again on the street, she is carrying the handkerchief which the girl gave her last Winter, the girl says:
-You are true, I belong to this place. I have many things to do here which I can’t do in anywhere else.
The old woman smiles and says: I know, I am here to wait for you. I know you will come back. Thank you for your hankerchieves, I have given the first one to my son to keep warm for him when he got cold that Winter. Last Winter, when I come back here, I want to say “Thank you” to you but you did not have time to hear it. So I come back this time to say: Thank you.
Then she invited the girl to come to her house. When they arrive, a young man smiles to welcome her to their small house. It is the poor old woman’s son. They are poor, their house have no equipment but for two beds, but they keep it clean and bright.
A year later, she gets married to that yuong man and they have babies. Each night, when she does the sewing and her husband makes handcraft, the children run around them and laugh happily.
