Father's Day is coming up in a few weeks (Sunday, June 15), and I thought some of you might want to do some writing about fathers, father figures, or fatherhood in general.

Here are some possible writing topics to explore in June. This month I'm not going to assign a special format or assignment. You can choose any of the following topics and write a blog in any way you please. Let's make a Father's Day collection of writing!

Your Task

Writing Challenge: A Six Word Story

Posted on April 28, 2014 at 20:28 37 Comments

I recently came across an interesting storytelling website called Six Word Stories. Do you think you could write a story in six words? This may sound like the easiest challenge I've given you, but, in truth, it may be the most difficult!

Your Task

1. Review some examples of Six Word Stories for inspiration.

2. Add a new blog post.…

Photo Challenge: ThingLink

Posted on March 5, 2014 at 16:00 4 Comments

I tried a new photo site today called "ThingLink". It's really fun! I used this image to create my first ThingLink. When you touch it on the site, the photo becomes interactive. Touch this photo. Then try making your own:

Unfortunately, the embedded photo option doesn't allow the links to show up on MyEC. To Touch (interact…

No Blog Left Behind - Let's Recommit

Posted on February 25, 2014 at 19:30 30 Comments

A few years ago, I traveled to England from Canada to do a special presentation about MyEC. I talked to hundreds of teachers about how I blog with English learners on EnglishClub. It was a fantastic experience, and many teachers vowed to get their students blogging when they returned to their own countries.

One thing that teachers were really excited about was a concept that we introduced long ago on MyEC:

No Blog…

You have huge  responsibilities  on your shoulders Tara. writing is not that easy. Your readers read each single word or letter you write, and watch out! If you make or create  any idea which does not suit their likeness. I give you all the permission to do anything about my writing or anything regarding my page here on My EC.  It would be  my pleasure to share or participate in any kind of work for the general benefit or gain! Thanks for your encouraging comment about Ramdan. Tomorrow, I will try to concentrate on the imposing and its profits.

Dear Tara. I have written the first part about Ramadan and later I shall provide the second part. By the way Tare, you just order us and we Obey. A talented woman like you commands and we are at her service. Thanks again Tara for your kind interest!

Hi tara, by the way, your name is just similar to mine. At least they have the same syllables. It is about the subject, Ramadan during world cup in Brazil. Although I am still under the impact of that semi final match between Germany and Brazil, I guess it is a pure personal religious matter. Of course, I cannot talk about the medical point of view, but you can endure and continue the game for at least ninety minutes. During dawn meal (sahoor), the player can have a particular kind of healthy hydrated food. People will make a fuss about anything. You have seen the performance of the Algerian team against Germany. We have a licence, either during travelling or when we are sick, we can be break the fast. There are other circumstances but the time is not enough for them now.
