Ni hao,
Just got back from China, one of the most exhilirating trips of my life. Visited Shanghai (again), then headed south to Guangxi---Guilin, Yangshuo, Li River, and Longsheng---: The landscape, both man made (as in the terraced rice fields of Longsheng) and natural (as in the awesome limestone peaks in and around Guilin and Yangshuo, and most evident along the Li River), is absolutely breathtaking.

Fred Jansohn said… Have to say the photo of me was in May 2011 when I was in China (for the second time this year) and revisiting Tiananmen Square.
On "strict" instructions to my travel guide the pic had to be taken from a distance, because I don't do very good close up photos! But I'll soon "bite the bullet" and post a better, more close-up, photo.
Anyway, even though my profile says I am a "teacher of English" I haven't actually yet stood before a class of L2 learners and taught anything; but I DID recently succeed in getting an Adanced TESOL Diploma and hope, sooner than later, to realise a dream of teaching somewhere--anywhere--in China.
Am leaving for China again in February 2012 as a tourist as well as to survery available TESOL positions.
Wish me luck,
Cheers and zai jian for now,
Fred
