BEING UNEMPLOYED

After graduation, I applied for a white collar job in private companies and Government Departments. Promptly they called me for a personal interview. But no where was I successful.I am happy about it. If I were successful in my first interview, I would not have had the opportunity of visiting so many cities of India. Whenever I was called for an interview, I used to contemplate whether to attend it or not as if it was invitation for a friend's wedding. But i never failed to attend any interview… Continue

DOG LOVERS

. During my childhood we were living in a remote corner of an isolated village and the only companions to play with children were two dogs. The dogs guarded the sheep from the wolves that made frequent visits to our farms from the hillock that separated us from the main village whose inhabitants were a few hundred in number and most of them weavers. The dogs followed us during our hunt for birds in the woods and swam with us in the near by stream which was fed mainly by rainwater and most of the… Continue

I like my city Bangalore

I am writing about the city I live in. Bangalore is one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Here you come across people of different religions and languages. They all live in harmony.Even the vegetable seller speaks English. The climate is always cool like the inhabitants of the city.It is known as the garden city of India. The Cubbon park and the Lal Bagh are the places most frequently visited by the tourists. The magnifiicent buildings of British days even to-day add beauty to the city.… Continue

The Lost Cell Phone

I had a cell phone, an ordinary one; what I mean is that the cell phone had no FM radio or camera attached to it. I purchased it on a special discount counter for just one thousand rupees. It served my purpose. One day I lost it in an auto while coming from school. Since it was a prepaid phone and has served me for more than a year I did not take it seriously. I thought I should not have a mobile phone at all. But my wife insisted that I must have a decent phone and any time the family members w… Continue

All beggars are not terrorists

I entered the S 9 compartment of the Super fast Intercity Express bound for
Coimbatore. The train was jam-packed with holiday crowds. My co passengers were college students .They were on study tour to 0oty. Every one of them had cell phone and the earphones were either plugged into their cell phones or I Pods.

0n several occasions while traveling in train I had come across different types of beggars. They are different from those at cross road signal and temple entrances. I have seen many women… Continue

Hi,
Thanks for your message, I was really glad to read about your family and about the city you live. I live in Northern Greece in a town near Thessaloniki. It's a town close to mountain Olympus which is the highest mountain in Greece and I can see it from my window. The seaside is just 10 kilometres away. I have two sons and one daughter . Have you ever lived abroad? I spent a semester in Germany as an exchange student and I ve been in some other countries as well as a tourist. Since I settled down I haven't travelled abroad. You told me that your daughter lives in the USA. Isn't that difficult when your children move so far away? In my twenties I was really keen on the idea of living in another country, better studies , opportunities etc. Later on I realised that as a mother I wouldn't really like my kids to move so far away. But who knows what the future holds...

Thanks for adding me as a friend. I'm a High school teacher teaching teenagers (12-15 years old) since 2000. But I 've actually been teaching since 1994.I have three children all going to Primary school and I teach them English too which is even more difficult than teaching other kids.
I 've always considered India a fascinating place. Where do you live exactly?
