To get back to the track, after a long divorce...

January 31st  2011, I came back home, lingered to my room as if I was holding the world's biggest dilemmas on my shoulders. I've spent about 2 hours in the gym today; push-ups were the main purpose, besides the very small part of me which was striving to have the grip on my life again. It gets very chronically traumatic sometimes, since you had thought once that you were in control on your own life but it turned out that life was what taking the control over you. Jazz chants

Do you use rhythm and rhyme to teach or learn?

One of my favorite teaching methods with learners of any level, from beginners to upper intermediate, from children to adults, is turning phrases that are difficult for them into rhythmic, often rhyming sentences. I learned this from the Jazz Chants written by Carolyn Graham. She explains how to do them…

Diploma course

I have decided to do a diploma in teaching English. Up to now I was just a practitioner, with many years of experience and a wide range of training courses - but none that is internationally known. I got my first degree (MA) in another field, and worked in museums, and thought for years I would go back to a museum job when we moved to a larger town. But being a teacher has really become my profession, so I've decided to get professional qualifications for it. The price is very high - it will… Continue

Before the Morning

Would you dare, would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on, you gotta wait for the light

Why I love these two singers

There are many singers out there. Each has different type of voices and styles. But, from many singers out there, I have two favorite female singers. I always admire and ‘jealous’ with the other successful writers out there. In my opinion, these two singers are also writers. The difference is that they convert their writing into music.  So, I want to explain why…

Writing Challenge # 27 Advice for the future fathers

Being a father is a beautiful dream for men, particularly in my culture.  Therefore we are obsessed with getting married when we think this good moment is arriving.
