Writing Challenge: To Capitalize or Not

Dear Raj,

I have had the happiness of receiving my first letter from EC’s sweet member, you. You know I wasn’t here for a while, that’s why I asked one of my neighbor’s to keep it till I came. I almost lost my hope in getting it in my hands and reading it. But, thank God now I have…

Writing Challenge: To Capitalize or Not

Dear Chandna,

I went to Goa last weekend with my family. Goa is located in West India and renowned for its beaches. I was enchanted by its scenic drives.

My family and I reached Margao, headquarters of South Goa, on a sunny day. We hired a car and visited Palolem Beach. This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Goa. It is a natural bay surrounded by lofty headlands on either sides.  Kids had a great time playing in the beach. When it became too hot, we somehow…

Writing Challenge To Capitalize or Not...... a letter to Muge

Dear Muge (Mommy)

We have not kept in touch for  a long time and you may be wondering what  I am up to . I got a letter from you in Turkey , dated October 15th 2011. Much to my dismay , thanks to the crawling  postal service here in my country , I got it only today!

At that time I was not in Sri Lanka as I was in Australia for my daughter's graduation . I was  fortunate to make it with my husband  and share some  beautiful memories.

We left to Melbourne on October 7th,…

Without women….what would happen? (Just for laugh)

Actually I don’t want to use this title. But today, I have a “cold war” with my hubby. And he said : “honey, remember that You are my rib. If I want ….then I will take it again” hahaha….Really? Well, let me list what would happen if there were no women in this world.

       * Firstly,  Men would become fat because all  their time, They would only eat, sleep, drink…They wouldn’t go out. Their lives are bored. They couldn’t see any…

Why it's better to be grateful than complain..

Sometimes, I have days when I can't see why things couldn't just be better. Sometimes, I get annoyed by the small things and sometimes I can't see how truly lucky I am to have the life I live.

I guess that happens. When things don't go your way or the way you want, you dwell on why it couldn't be better instead of thinking how it could be worse.

I realized this when I saw a picture of an old woman selling her merchandise. I…

Some new knowledge for me.

As I’ve introduced about myself, I live in urban area. And the price of house in my city is very high. So most of houses are small and don’t have garden . Here, You can not open a “farm” and can’t feed any animals (except some dogs or cats or some birds…..) like this : cow, pig, duck, chicken….hehehe….. It’s impossible. When My Mom wanna teach me about the natural life. She always take me back to her home town . That picnic was really helpful and interesting.
