FORGETTING

For centuries it has been said

Decades of different predicaments

And yet reality bites from within

As fantasies and dreams converge

In a pool of eruptive spin

A leap that says it all

The shadowed past is gone

Comprehending what I want

I want you back inside

Beside me for lifetimes and beyond

I know enough to believe in you

To inhibit myself from not loving you

The more I try to forget you

The more I get hurt inside,

In the crevices of my heart

Loneliness has been a friend

For years and years astride

Only in you did I find

A humanly love that made my fears

All disappear out of my sight

My Goodness, you are so talented! Not everybody can put pen to paper and create something like this! Poetry writing comes naturally to you; you’re a gifted woman. Personally, I think your poems (I've read the others too) should be featured by MyEC! They'll definitely act as a guideline to those young and inspiring poem writers here at the Club.
