Have you seen it? It was released in July 6, 1994, and became one of most famous American movies in 1990s. In the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), it scores 8.6 stars. It was directed by Robert Zemeckis, and Tom Hanks played Forrest Gump.

To be honest, I don't remember its plot clearly. In general, it is a story of a low IQ person. Although he was not clever, but he still lived a great life. What he has done is more valuable than lots of people who are more clever than him. In that movie, the background stories involve lots of important events in the neoteric and modern American history. This makes the movie more a little indigestible for me.

However, I still like the movie very much. It gave me courage when my self-confidence was weak. Think about Forrest Gump. Every people are equal. And it doesn't matter whether you are clever or not. What matters is the action you are taking. And I like the beautiful scene in the film.

One actor's line I cannot forget is "My mama always said, life was like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you gonna get." I think it does not mean that things are unpredictable, it just wanna tell us taking actions you are sure feel right is more important than guessing what the result would be.

"My Favorite Movies" is our "Biweekly topic" for Aug 15-31. Which movie is your favorite? What does it talk about? Why do you like it? Waiting for your anticipation.

Hi Reiziuh!
Forest Gump is a great movie,I saw it several times.
I love those memorable Forest's quotes, some of them are gathered on this site:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109830/quotes
My favourite though:
Lieutenant Daniel Taylor: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?
Forrest Gump: I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for him, sir.

Thank you for sharing your favourite film with us.

Hi Reiziuh,
The film chosen by you is also one of my my favourite. I even haven't met people who didn't like this film. This film teaches us generosity and tolerance, persistence and courage. As for the indigestibility of the scenes showing some historical events, let me not agree with you, in my opinion, without them the film would lose its endearing qualities.
Thanks for sharing your thoghts and impressions with us!

Yes, Jenny, we have the same feeling. The progress is more meaningful than result sometimes. And if my memory is true, the heroine's name is Jenny too, just as yours.
Take care, my pal.
