because people speak English
Recently I posted a blog to mark my coming back, and it's also a promise to myself to stay a loyal EC member. It was a sheer joy to be warmly welcomed back by EC friends! And I was specially inspired by Fahime as she said those simple yet meaningful words "just be happy and enjoy your EC stay". I then immediately decided to write a blog about it, not forgetting to ask for her permission, and of course my lovely sister said yes. So here I am writing about it. There are many cool features to enjoy on EC, and followings are my personal taste:
Blog section: As I observe, usually there are about 10 - 20 blogs posted by members each day. That's more than enough stuff for me to practice my reading skill. Not only do I have good materials to read, but I also have the chance to interact and get to know my online friends better. My knowledge is broadened and I have fun at the same time. Yeah, you can say I'm killing two birds with one stone :) My favorite blogs are Wordless Wednesday ones, as they offer me the chance to participate in exciting challenges, where I have to think, think, and think in order to submit entertaining captions that suit the pictures. Definitely a great exercise for any English learner!
Discussion forum: In General discussion sub-category there are many great topics posed by EC members, and most of the time I've got to think a lot before being able to put an appropriate answer. It's like a brain exercise for me. Visiting Help each other with English sub-category also helps me to learn from advanced learners' or teachers' answers to English queries from other learners; sometimes I myself also try to help, because I remember reading some articles which say we learn better when we try to "teach" someone else.
Photo and album galleries: These two are great sources of learning for many members, especially visual learners, I think. I always find interesting photos or useful videos whenever I pay a visit to either section. Through photos members share about different aspects of life, and like blogs, I find it wonderful that we become familiar with each other.
There's so much more I want to express, but lacking of words causes me to stop here. In the end, I want everyone to just be happy and enjoy your EC stay like I do :)
The topic also reminded me of a must-read blog Read This and Be Happier, written by Mr. Bob, one of EC's nobly senior members. "Don't be sad, be active on MyEC" is the emphasized message he wants to send to us all through that fabulous blog; in addition, he also provides us with constructive advice on how to be/become an active member. My mind was lightened after reading the blog!
