When someone tells or asks me something and I have no idea what they just said.  This is not so bad if they were speaking Arabic or Russian, but it is really awkward if  they are trying to speak English and I don't recognize it. 

I was especially uncomfortable at a workshop I was holding for English teachers when I realized a teacher was asking a question and I only understood every fifth word.  I apologized for not hearing well so I could get him to repeat the question twice more.  Luckily some other teachers helped with the mispronounced words while I concentrated on what he was trying to say.

I think in life we will all experience an embarassing moment. I have had speakers block, but hey once i get going i dont stop. Even writters block but this is normal so i am told. At the end of the day we are all human.

I agree with Beverly, It's so awkward moment when you talk with several in skype, messenger, or chat room then you post message in wrong place.So they become confused !

My worst moment was once when I was a telephone company worker and my job was to visit various business clients and check out their telephone equipment rooms. At one location the main office was very small and the receptionist guided me through another door and then to the equipment room. When I was finished with my activities, I came back out to the reception room, smiled at the receptionist, and told her not to get up, I would let myself out. Well. I turned to leave and only now noticed there were 2 closed doors in the area where I had come in. Hmmm. Which was the exit, neither door had any signs on them. Rather than bother her I picked one, went through it and closed the door behind me. Ouch! It was a closet. Wrong door. It was really really difficult to open that door again and come out!!! (laugh)
