"Writing Challenge #12: My Dream English School"

My dream school would be a center of cultural integration, where students would have, besides English language , arts classes or sports activities , according with their abilities. Having this integration with other classes and teachers, learning English language would be easier and much more consistent , just because they would study and practice it at the same time. As for the teachers, the soul of any school, must be highly qualified. It means that it is not enough to have the perfect knowledge of the English language, but the ability of knowing how to transmit it, through creative educational techniques, appropriate for each age group, is indispensable. Classes would be made up of only seven students, for the teacher could give attention and opportunity for all to express themselves. The building would be located in a quite place, surrounded by a large lawn and a well kept garden, with many flowers, leafy trees and many benches. There , now and then, to escape from routine and maintain motivation, teachers and students could gather together to exchange experiences, playing games which require a greater number of participants. The classrooms would be well equipped with air condiotioner, TV, DVD player, recorder; so they could record their own voice while reading, to correct the pronunciation, and hidden camcorders which the teacher, once in a while would turn on, without the students realizing it, and consequently they would participate naturaly of the classes. It would be useful, after a while, for the students to monitor their own progress, correcting their pronunciation mistakes. A big library with attractive and diversified bibliography; confortable chairs and large cushions on the floor, would create a pleasurable and relaxed atmosphere and would be an invitation for reading. This school would be subsidized by a government commited to the full development of human being. This is the school of my dreams, after all, dreaming is not forbidden.

Would you go to my school? Why, or why not?

Yes, I would go to your school Suela! I love how you describe the "soul" of the school. Indeed, every school must have a soul. This seems like a very peaceful place to learn. Plus, I'm all about reading on pillows!

It would be great if you could bold some of the important vocabulary in your writing. I'm sure other learners would love to learn words you have used like consistent, highly qualified, indispensable , and diversified.

By the way, did you make up the word "habilities" or is that just a typo? I don't think it is a word, but it should be. :)
