Writing Challenge #7: Building Our Dream House

clubhouse

This month, let's build the house of our dreams. Since we are all part of an English Club, we'll make it a clubhouse. We will describe it together in the comment section.

For this challenge I need writers to do the building, landscaping, painting, home decorating, and even renovating. Each time you visit the blog, imagine that you have just spent time at the clubhouse. Answer this question: What did you do at the building site today?

Here are some things you can do:
  • build a new room
  • plant a garden
  • add lighting
  • bring in furniture
  • add appliances
  • decorate and paint
  • put in new floors
  • add accessories

Here is some useful "house vocabulary" for the challenge:

Rooms in a house
Furniture and decor
Appliances

Okay, I'll begin...
---------------------------------------------------------
Today, I built the framework for the clubhouse. It has a basement, a main floor, and an upstairs. There are many staircases, but I'm not sure how many rooms there will be. The house is on a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is a large open field behind the house. I have ordered 20 large bookcases, which will arrive tomorrow.

Alba,
Good point. A fresh coat of paint makes all the difference. I vote for a sunny yellow. Not too bright.
What should we cook on the BBQ? Perhaps we should grow some corn. I love BBQ corn with lime and chili peppers.

BILA Awa Yah,
Thanks for joining the challenge! I love your sentence about the "ballet of colored butterflies". Great stuff.

i ever dreamt that my house looks like a big garden given that i love nature.i take into charge the planting of exotic flowers which coming from all over the world ;an exotic garden.into that garden,i will plant many fruits trees in which birds will come to sing for EC members sitting on the little chairs settled under those differents fruits trees;also listening to the sound of the small waterway crossing the garden watering the flowers thanks to small canals. At night the performance will be most beautiful again than in the morning thanks to the light illuminating all the garden and the ballet of colored butterflies flying everywhere.

Hmm...good point. We should probably have a first-aid kit handy, too. Surely there are a few nurses among all of these members!

Naima. I like flower pots too. Mine always blow over in the wind though. We'll need gigantic ones to withstand the wind near the Pacific Ocean. Many of you have shared your love of trees here. It's great to be in the company of nature lovers. Looks like this clubhouse is just about ready. Do we need any finishing touches?

I 've had bought a piece of land near seaside in Penang Island , Malaysia. Althought it was expensive, but i love it because it's far from Penang Town. I'm going to built just a small house with three bedroom, two shower room, dining hall and a cute kitchen. This house will become a home stay for my family, relatives and friends. We can enjoy weekends by swimming, playing and food at beautiful beach and senery.
