After I graduated from university I started to learn english but I never kept going  I always ended up disappointed. I had do many things l bought many books to learn english , I saw so many videos about english, I joined many forums for English learners ... etc

Unfortunately after three years regardless of all my effort I didn't see any noticeable development in my language

I started to think that I'm not able to master any language because  i just don't have ability to do that. I was really disappointed .so, I decided to try to learn english for one more year with all my strength without any break .I told myself that after this year if I can't make any progress in English I will forget it forever and focus on something else

I thought so much how I'll teach myself at home then I thought about something .Every time I see or hear the word "Apple " I don't have to think I directly know what it means . So, I thought if i can make every word easy to remember as that word I'll make the progress that I want.

I used to learn many words before But I always forgot them easily after a while like I've never seen them before. I thought my way to memorize those words was wrong therefore I had to see how other people memorize words . I found in general people had three advices

1- Write the new words without translation
2- Use them as much as you can
3- Try to read the new words every single day for a week at least

I was almost doing just the opposite but after I stuck with these advices as rules of learning English I found myself getting better and better in English.I started remembering words more, I could memorize long sentences , I followed English accounts on Twitter ,I used the dictionary less than before  ..etc

I just saw the difference and felt  the progress that I always wanted. I did many wrong things during learning English but I had learned something very important sometimes you don't have to try harder you just need to mend your way or change it .

The second thing that helped me a lot . About one year ago I started using an app where you can find English native speakers. I started talking with people there. At a beginning I remember so many times I couldn't express myself there and I was just talking about specific topics but that helped me too , because as they say " If you don't use it, you will lose it" when you talk or write and use your own vocabulary its just stick in your brain automatically that makes my expanded vocabulary effortlessly

For me learning English is like a journey and I can feel that I'm so close to the end

Well done! Thanks for sharing your story. More or less my journey is like yours. I still make grammatical mistakes which I think I shouldn't, so it drives me crazy. For me learning English is so enjoyable. Your writing proves your improvement. Good luck.
