It's been a time I haven't written anything and after reading Diah's blog, something came to my mind.
As she commented, modern life, apps, circumstances... push us to be sort of lazy so we should find anything that motivate us...
...Spinning (or indoor cycling) is a fashionable activity nowadays and sooo funny. It consists on pedalling on a stationary bike to the rhythm of a lively music and following the exercises an instructor is telling us. The pace and pedal resistance vary during the fifty/sixty minutes of the session. It starts with a warm up and finishes with a stretching.
I found it some years ago and I can state that it is beneficial for your health and weight, yes one must watch not only his heart but also restrain his tummy to keep on 'being in the market' haha... actually it's one of the activities that makes you sweat the most.
But what I found really beneficial is the adrenaline you get to remove the generated stress of the day, week... this way you kill two birds with one stone. Yes, you can burn 500 to 550 calories average if you do it correctly. That's not bad to eliminate the waste of pizza you ate, right? Back to the point, it's suggesting to get away from problems or daily workload. I,m sure you'll wear a different mood. Guaranteed! ;)
Normally this activity is practised in gyms or sport centres but you can also practice at home, you just need a special bike for spinning, as for the tutorials you can easily find them on the net. Anyway exercising in group with a real instructor is always more motivational and enjoyable.
The perfect age to practice it?... in my class I find people from 18 to maybe 70 or more, male and females indifferently. It's admirable to see old people exercising this way. (Young girls too)
There is other modality consisting on exercising it under the water in a swimming pool, here it is called 'aqua spinning' and it's said is more beneficial for circulation. I can't give opinion since never tried.
However this sport is not recommended if you suffer from any hearth issue or have a physical lesion. You must watch your knee joints too since they can feel the effects.
Well, I'll be glad if you practice spinning and share your comments with us. If you don't but you have liked it or think it's at least interesting, Then join my class... https://youtu.be/CBlLwEF_WtM
